Tree-moving of large trees & Growing Success

The highest demands we place on ourselves.

For almost 60 years, we have been passionately dedicated to transplanting vital trees. The high growth success after a successful large tree transplant speaks in favour of our services and our 360-degree service.

Based on comprehensive expertise and decades of experience, our know-how is spread across three service pillars: tree-moving – aftercare – tree vitality services. Only if these aspects are optimally fulfilled will you as a customer benefit as much as possible from healthy and sustainable greenery.

Tree-move

large trees using our specially developed OPTIMAL machines is undoubtedly the fastest and gentlest method of moving a tree professionally. Here we consider both the tree environment and the project-specific conditions in order to be able to act individually.

With our specialised method, we can also transplant superlarge trees.

Aftercare makes all the difference

Every successful transplant requires intensive aftercare, which is crucial for the growth of the tree. A rehabilitation zone is created around the transplanted tree to ensure further nutrient supply and development. This involves digging around the root ball and trimming the roots. Optionally, various growth promoters and soil conditioners are added, which are customised to the respective tree and location.

A watering edge is then created, the tree disc is covered with bark mulch or planted as desired and a trunk protector is installed to protect the tree from the weather. The tree is anchored accordingly for stabilisation. The tree crown is also thinned out in proportion to the reduced root system in order to support optimum growth. Finally, the root ball is thoroughly slurried.

Customised care safeguards the tree population

Subsequent care includes regular watering and monitoring, especially in the first three to five years after transplanting. Opitz offers this care service with its own team and special watering vehicles. The intensity of the watering depends on the climatic conditions as well as the size and location of the tree and is between 200 and 1,000 litres per watering cycle.

Regular inspections of the anchoring, checking for pest infestation and keeping the tree disc free of unwanted growth are essential. However, should problems occur or questions arise regarding site improvement, we are on hand to provide advice and assistance. Before acceptance, we carry out final work such as removing the anchoring, pruning corrections and loosening the tree disc.

A coherent overall package

With our experience in all service areas of large tree transplantation, you benefit from a sustainable and long-lasting tree population that also offers future generations quality of life and environmental protection in urban areas.
